Vanity number providers compared
A vanity number costs you twice: once for the number, and every month for the service that keeps it working. The number price is different for every number, so it cannot be compared. The monthly price can, and over a few years it is the bigger part.
Every competitor figure below was read from that vendor's own pricing page on 2026-11-02 and is linked, so you can check it. Prices change; the vendor's page is always the final word.
Per number
The cheapest plan that rings your phone
Monthly price and what 36 months of it cost, before the price of the number itself.
| Provider | Plan | Monthly | Included | 36 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GuavaNumbers | Standard (pricing) | $9/month, or $90/year | 100 minutes, then 5¢ a minute; texts to email included | $324, or $270 paid yearly |
| NumberBarn | Call Forwarding | $6.99/month | 600 minutes; texts to email +$1/mo | $251.64 |
| RingBoost (local) | Starter | $12.99/month | 100 minutes, then 2.9¢ a minute | $467.64 |
| RingBoost (toll-free) | Starter | $12.99/month | 100 minutes, then 2.9¢ a minute | $467.64 |
| Grasshopper | Lowest published plan | $14/month | Plan details on the vendor's page | $504 |
A toll-free number with us is $12 a month: the $9 plan plus $3 for toll-free.
Two kinds of vendor
Marketplaces sell you the number, with a one-time price that depends on how good the number is, and then a monthly plan to keep it and forward calls. Service vendors, including us, include the number in the monthly price: there is no separate number price, and you keep the number for as long as you keep the plan.
Where we are not the cheapest
If you only want to hold a number without it ringing anywhere, a parking plan is cheaper than any plan of ours: NumberBarn Number Parking is $2.99 a month ($107.64 over 36 months), RingBoost (local) Parking is $4.99 a month ($179.64 over 36 months). And NumberBarn's Call Forwarding plan, at $6.99 a month with more minutes than ours, costs less each month than our $9, before the price of the number and its text add-on.
What our price includes: the number itself, with nothing to pay for it up front, texts forwarded to your email, and a yearly option at $90.
How to choose
- You want the number to be yours to move. Buy it from a marketplace and port it to your own carrier. We do not offer porting out.
- You only need calls to ring the phone you already have. Compare the monthly price of a forwarding plan and the minutes it includes, as in the table.
- You need menus, extensions and several users. A business phone system fits better than a forwarding plan, ours included.
- You want a word in your own area code. Search before you compare: the right number is rarer than the right plan.
